~ A little about me ~

My name is Crystal and I’m the owner of Crystal’s Little Ducklings, offering swimming lessons to any age group but primarily ages 3 months to 12 years, as well as parent-tot and baby group classes in the city of Murrieta. Swim safety for babies and young children is my passion and I am so honored and excited to be teaching these valuable skills for families in the area.

I’ve been a certified swim instructor and lifeguard for 18+ years. I started teaching while I was a freshman in high school.  When I was 17, I qualified to take the Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course and once I graduated at 18, I started working at ORACLE in the Bay Area.  They had a great gym there for employees and a lovely pool, but no swim program.  I developed an entire swim program that included swim lessons, stroke school, water fitness classes, and even a monthly family fun day.  I enjoyed it tremendously and so did the families!

After a few years, I went back to school and graduated the Fire Academy and got my EMT-B certificate in 2008.  I was hired by the Peninsula Jewish Community Center and I was fortunate enough to become their Lead Swim instructor who trained all the new hires and I was also the Head Lifeguard in charge of a staff of over 50 college students.  I thrived in that role and was sad to leave when I moved to Southern California.  But, I was excited to be the brand-new wife of a United States Marine!

For the next 3 years, I taught lessons for a small home based swim school in San Clemente.  I was fortunate to learn all the “behind the scenes” business aspects of running a swim school.  I then landed a position with Lifetime Fitness as their Assistant Aquatics Director.  It was a $56 million-dollar facility just being built.  I helped hire all the swim staff, provide the training, develop the swim program, and monitor the daily activities of the aquatics department.  It was a dream job and a beautiful place to work.

As life moves forward, we then came to expect our first child, our daughter Tessa Rose.  Since it was so difficult to find an affordable, decent sized house in the Dana Point area, we had to figure out our next step.  The logical thing for us was to move out to the Temecula/Murrieta/Menifee area where we could find a house that would suit our growing family.

At that point, I knew it was time to open my own swim school.  I have had so much experience over the years creating programs and running aquatics departments, and all the while still doing the hands-on teaching, which is really my passion.  I am so excited to now share my knowledge and expertise with the families in the Murrieta area.

I have a true passion for swimming and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE working with children.  They can always put a smile on my face.  Starting with a child who is terrified, crying, screaming, and honestly scared for their life and turning their experience of swimming into something fun and safe is so rewarding.  I am VERY patient with my students and that is important because everyone learns at a different pace and gaining their trust is such a key factor to success.

I can absolutely guarantee that if you are committed, I can teach your child to swim and they will have fun doing it!!

Remember CONSISTENCY is key!
