Q: What teaching method will you be using?
A: We teach the swim-float-swim technique. This allows your child to learn safety first. From there they can learn the natural progression of strokes much easier and more confidently.
Q: What age should I start my child in swimming lessons?
A: If possible you should start your child in swimming lessons as an infant. If your child starts lessons before they turn one year old it will trigger memories of the womb and encourages faster learning. The longer you wait with your child the more difficult and longer the learning process will be.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends starting swim lessons early for a variety of reasons:
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: Yes, there is an annual non-refundable registration/insurance fee of $25. If you sign up for multiple sessions you will only pay the registration/insurance fee your first session.
Q: Will you come to my pool and teach?
A: Yes, for an additional cost our instructors can certainly travel to your desired swim location. Price is determined on distance and number of students.
Q: Can you lifeguard a pool party at my house?
A: Yes, all of our swim instructors are also certified lifeguards. Price depends on location and duration of party. There is a 3 hour minimum.
Q: Will you teach if it is raining?
A: Yes, we hold swim lessons rain or shine. The only time we will cancel and reschedule lessons is when there is lightning. If there has not been any lightning for 30 min we will resume swim lessons. Crystal’s Little Ducklings will post updates on our Facebook page regarding swim lessons and the storm.
Q: What if my child misses a lesson? Are there make-up lessons?
A: You are allowed free makeups for ILLNESS ONLY. You must provide a Dr.’s note to be honored the free makeup. Vacation, birthday parties and other obligations DO NOT honor free make-up lessons. If you would like a make-up lesson for missing a class for any reason then you may pay an additional $10 to make-up your class. Make-up lessons must be completed within the same session that they were missed.
Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash, checks, debit and credit cards. If you choose to pay by debit or credit card there is a 2% convenience fee.
